What is the 1000 little things list?
The 1000 little things list is a collection of one thousand tiny, everyday joys — the smell after summer rain, warm clothes straight from the dryer, a text from your favorite person, the first sip of cold water after being outside all day. None of them cost anything, and none of them are rare: the whole point is that they happen constantly, and mostly go unnoticed. Reading the list is a way of noticing on purpose. Is this the original Tumblr list?
No — and we think you should know exactly where the idea comes from. Nancy wrote the original Just Little Things list on Tumblr between 2010 and 2013, one pastel card at a time, and her site is still online. Even earlier, Neil Pasricha counted down his 1000 Awesome Things blog from 2008 and turned it into the bestselling Book of Awesome. Both are wonderful and both deserve your visit.
